Founded in 1863, Rhode Island Hospital is a private, not-for-profit hospital and is the largest teaching hospital of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. A major trauma center for southeastern New England, the hospital is dedicated to being on the cutting edge of medicine and research. 21st Century Oncology, Inc.develops and operates radiation therapy centers. Its hospital-based centers provide radiation therapy services to cancer patients, including conventional external beam radiation treatments; and services, such as prostate seed implants, 3D conformal treatment planning, intensity modulated radiation therapy, and image-guided radiotherapy. The company also operates a radiation therapy school for radiation therapy. It operates centers in Alabama, Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Rhode Island and West Virginia.
